A Little About Us
Hello, my name is James Averill, owner of American Eagle Business Services and a practicing accountant, consultant recognized as a "tax return preparer (TRP) by the Internal Revenue Service,".

I am an accomplished and results driven executive leader with extensive broad-based and progressively responsible experience leading business strategy and operations, as well as marketing and personnel development. I have a proven ability to utilize strong general management capabilities with a senior management team or small business owners to accomplish the directives within the overall business operational strategy and mission
It is my goal to use my unique set of management and accounting skills to provide the small business owner or senior management with the financial information required to make informed operational decisions to accomplish the companies mission statement and contribute to the overall financial success.
I'm sure you might be asking the question, "What ever made you start American Eagle Business Services"?
Well that is an interesting story. Our humble beginnings began around a friends kitchen table. She wanted to open a plant and flower greenhouse. So for many nights, over lots of coffee we prepared her business plan, set up a simple accounting system.
What I went on to discover was that most small business owners had a hard time finding affordable accounting, management consulting and tax advice. Many folks went to the box store tax office. You know, the kind you see in strip malls that sometimes have folks out in the street waving at you. Small business owners as well as individuals paid outrageous prices for income tax preparation. I decided to offer affordable income tax preparation and accounting services for small businesses. So it was from that humble beginning in a friends kitchen 35+ years ago, offering simple advice that we have continued on our path in life and our mission.
I have worked hard over the years and have developed a program to provide quality and affordable services for the small business owner. I not only offer accounting, income tax and payroll tax reporting, but also general business consulting services, at affordable rates. American Eagle Business Services will always continue to provide individual income tax preparation and advice at very affordable rates.
This past January will mark our 37th year of being in business. Like most enterprises, we to have had to adjust to our strange economic times and this horrible Covid-19 virus. But we not only survived, we have grown. I am pleased to announce that I will be opening up shop at 408 Main Street, Clarion, PA

ASHFORD UNIVERSITY, Clinton, Iowa - Masters in Public Administration
- Over 25 years management and accounting experiences as Fiscal Director and Controller.
- Over 40 years accounting and tax experiences working with small business enterprises.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Accounting, Peachtree and QuickBooks.
- TaxAct Tax Software, ProSeries Tax Software, Drake Tax Software, Dragon Slayor Tax Software
- Open Office Suites, Microsoft Office Suites and Libreoffice Suites familiar.
- CPE hours from various approved IRS approved education services
- Currently working on my Enrolled Agent course work.
